Thanksgiving 2019

After much conversation lately, the general feeling about Thanksgiving is that no one is posting about it anymore. I know we are all definitely still celebrating it but as far as the blogging world is considered…it’s disappeared! It feel’s like as soon as Halloween decor is down, the tree goes up! I can’t really get on board with this schedule, so here I am posting about Thankgiving, my favorite holiday of the year with a slow move in the Christmas direction. After all, I am the person that takes most of the Christmas decor down the day after so why rush to put it up?

So let’s get to the point of this post and talk about the minimal tablescape and what I used to pull it all together.

I recently changed our previous dining chairs (woven rope, white, wishbone chairs) to these leather and wood chairs. I love the detail and texture of the chair and they are also extremely comfortable. I always design with comfort in mind and because we spend a lot of time entertaining around this table, they needed to be both beautiful and comfortable. We will be carrying them in our House Seven Design + Build shop in the coming months because I love them so much!

I wanted the tablescape to reflect the warm tones of the furniture and feel simple. I really only used 10 total items when pulling it together.

  1. Greenery (found at our local wholesaler but you can purchase at any nursery or florist)

  2. Pomogranetes (grocery store)

  3. Artichokes (grocery store)

  4. Brass candlestick holders (similar here)

  5. Kilim rug runner as our table runner (similar here) or (here)

  6. Linen Napkins (here)

  7. Flatware (here)

  8. Dinner plates (similar)

  9. Salad plates (here)

  10. Glassware, green and clear juice glasses, used for wine at our house!

For the dishes, I chose my green dinner plates paired with wooden salad plates on top. I picked a burnt orange linen napkin to create a casual feel and brass flatware. I also used my handmade green glassware from Casa Maako.
