Are you all familiar with Camille Syles? I actually wasn’t until recently when the lovely people there reached out to me about a feature on their site. As soon as I searched their website I was hooked! So many lovely images to peruse over and so many good posts about things ranging from skincare to travel. Now I can’t stop reading post after post there. I love finding new blogs that I connect with and then wonder how the heck I didn’t know about them to begin with…where have I been?

The feature of our remodeled 1940’s Cape Cod turned out so well and I couldnt be happier.

When I styled the house for the shoot, I wanted to use new items that we will be carrying in our shop. I made sure that the styling reflected how our home feels when your actually standing in it, maybe not always this clean but the overall feel.

I don’t like a lot of fluff or too much styling when I’m working on a photo shoot project. It’s funny, things that look really good in “real life” can look stuffy or cluttered in photos and I didn’t want that.

More than anything I wanted to make sure the photos reflected how we really live and how the house makes you feel. The feeling of a home is the most important part of designing for me. This comes from wanting to make room for things that really matter, like the actual people living here and wanting to make sure everyone feels comfortable in the space. I want our home to evoke a feeling of comfort for both my family and our friends.

Our new cabinet from Etu Home is a true showstopper in the kitchen. What a difference it makes in the space! Its gorgeous and the storage that it provides is making life around her so much better. I loved our open shelves but when I saw this cabinet sitting in the showroom in Atlanta on our last trip to Americasmart, I squealed. It was coming home with me one way or the other!

I share these photos and so many more of our home, so please, if you have a moment, head over to READ more about our little home and how we have turned her back into the beauty that she once was so long ago!
