Master Bath Renovation with Ferguson

Have you ever remodeled a bathroom and lived through it to actually tell the story of it later? I asked this because a bathroom renovation or any renovation in your home is HARD. Like really, really, hard!

Thankfully I had so much to look forward to like all the pretty Rohl plumbing, the gorgeous Signature Hardware soaking tub, vanity and lighting. All from our local Ferguson design center.

But before I get in to what our bathroom looks like now, lets take a look back at how the bathroom looked when we first moved in to our home three years ago. The photo is blurry but I think you get the idea. The bathroom was more of a closet in size. Not nearly enough room for one person, let alone two. The tile was molding, the sink vanity was falling apart and it was just plain gross. We desperately needed to renovate and adding more square footage was at the top of the list.

Thankfully we had plenty of room in our bedroom to add on to the bathroom so we built out from the existing doorway. You can see the blue tape marking the soon to be wall. Below you can see where Brian framed and drywalled the new wall and we added a wardrobes to the remaining wall just to the outside of the new bathroom wall.

Here is a image of what the room looks like now. But before we could get to this point we had to live through the DEMO. For all of those people out there that talk about how much they love DEMO Day, all I can say about that is, they have never had to clean up after demo day because its truly the worst! But its also way more cost effective when you are able to do most of the work on your own. Brian demo’d the old bath and framed all the walls for the new bath. He did all the drywall work and trim. This saved us quite a bit in the remodel process. We called in the pros for the tile work and plumbing of course! We believe that you don’t mess around with water unless you are a trained professional. God knows, we didn’t need another flood in our house.

Here is that same view a few months later! Happy dancing and maybe even a few tears because we were finally done.

Our Signature Hardware vanity installed along with new lighting, and Rohl Plumbing. For as hard as a renovation can be the absolute easiest part was being able to select everything we needed for the bathroom from the Ferguson showroom in literally one afternoon and everything was sent to our doorstep. No running around town looking for items in stock or dealing with multiple companies shipping all of our items. The Ferguson team was so easy to work with. They wrote up our order that same day and helped manage all our deliveries. The customer service was exemplary and we have been back several times since to work with the Ferguson team on our client projects too.

We seriously could not be happier with how our master bath turned out, even if it did take way longer then we had originally anticipated. I guess thats why they say the best things are worth waiting for. I use our tub almost every night in the winter and its by far my most favorite feature in our new bath. Its my little heaven on earth and the place I retreat to after a long day. Feels so good to have this room to come home to now!
