Why I Love Being on The Expert
Getting to do what I love every day is something I never take for granted. Designing homes that feel personal, collected, and meaningful brings me so much joy — and being part of The Expert has only deepened that joy in ways I never expected.
The Expert is a platform where people from all over the world can book one-on-one virtual consultations with interior designers. It’s personal, approachable, and full of possibility — and from the moment I joined, I knew it was something really special.
What I love most is the connection. I’ve had the absolute joy of meeting clients from my hometown of Indianapolis (hi neighbors!) all the way to Dubai — and so many places in between. Seriously, how amazing is that? Without this platform, I would’ve never had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful people in so many different parts of the world. It blows me away every time I open my laptop and meet someone new, ready to dive into their home.
And these sessions? They are fun. Casual. Energizing. Sometimes we’re making big decisions — choosing finishes, solving tricky floor plan issues, or refining cabinetry details. Other times, we’re talking about styling a built-in, selecting the perfect rug, or figuring out how to make a space feel more layered and lived-in. The best part is that every conversation is different, because every home — and every person — is different.
There’s something really special about being able to meet people right where they are. Whether they’re in the middle of a renovation, just moved in, or are dreaming up a future project, we get to talk through their vision and bring clarity to the process. And that’s what I love — helping people feel confident in their choices and excited about their spaces.
For me, design has always been about more than just aesthetics. It’s about memory, emotion, and the feeling you get when you walk into a space that reflects who you are. That belief shapes everything I do, and it’s at the heart of every Expert session. I want people to walk away from our time together feeling seen, inspired, and clear on their next steps — whether it’s moving forward with a big project or finally choosing the right paint color.
What’s also been so inspiring is the feedback I receive after sessions. Clients often say things like, “I can’t believe how much we covered in just one hour!” or “You helped me make decisions I’ve been stuck on for months.” That kind of impact — even in a short amount of time — is what makes these sessions so meaningful for me. It’s proof that a little support and encouragement can go a long way.
Being part of The Expert also means being in amazing company. We all come from different backgrounds and design styles, but we share a love for helping people create spaces that feel like home.
