Vintage Finds to Create Your Dream Home

I am constantly on the hunt for new pieces to fall in love with. Scoping out new home finds has always been a hobby of mine, but in the past few years I’ve found myself drawn more and more towards vintage pieces over new items. I love the history and satisfaction that comes from finding something unique for my home or for a client’s home. There are so many reasons why I love investing in vintage pieces and if you haven’t hopped on the bandwagon yet, let me enlighten you.

Vintage pieces are unique. When you shop vintage, the pieces you find will be completely unique. With years of use, each piece has different wear and tear that makes it unalike any other item. When I find something vintage, I love knowing that no one else has the same piece. It makes my home custom and personalized to my style and taste.

Each vintage pieces has a story. Worn, aged, and beaming with personality, along with each vintage or antique piece comes comes a story. When I source a vintage piece, one of my favorite things to do is to find out where it came from, how old it is, and how it was used. I love knowing this for my own sake, but it also serves as a conversation starter when people visit my home and ask about it.

Shopping vintage reduces waste. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely am a victim of the occasional Target or Ikea run, but shopping vintage allows me to contribute to reducing waste. Making the world a little more eco-friendly is something I think we can all get on board with.

Vintage pieces often have better quality. If you need further proof that vintage is the way to go, let’s talk about the quality that vintage offers. The quality of most vintage pieces is hard to come by these days. Vintage pieces are more likely to be handmade, carefully and thoroughly crafted. I don’t know about you, but I 1000% prefer something handmade if I have the option.
